Evacuated to Egypt for treatment, he was left waiting in an overwhelmed government hospital and has had no choice but to move to a private hospital and pay for the surgery himself. What happened
Ezzeddin suffered a severe injury to his leg that has left him unable to walk. As his X‑rays show, the bone needs surgical fixation to be realigned and stabilised. Without the operation, he faces the very real risk of permanent disability.
A race against time in Egypt
Ez was able to leave Gaza and reach Egypt for treatment. But in the government hospital the process crawled — long waits, little communication, and care that fell far short of what an injury like this needs. With every week of delay raising the risk of the bone healing badly and leaving him disabled for life, he made the hard decision to move to a private hospital and have the surgery done properly. There, the operation is at his own expense — a cost he simply cannot carry alone.
