With winter closing in, displaced families in Gaza — including young children — have no proper shelter. We are raising $7,000 to build 4 sturdy shelters from steel frames and tarpaulins, plus basic sanitation, before the cold and rain arrive.
Winter is almost here, and families who were forced from their homes in Gaza are facing the cold and rain with nothing but makeshift cover. Among them are children who cannot endure another winter exposed to the elements.
What we are building
We will build sturdy shelters made from steel frames and heavy-duty tarpaulins — simple but durable structures that keep families dry and protected through the winter. This project provides 4 shelters for 4 families, together with basic sanitation.
What your donation covers — about $7,000
- Steel frames (reinforced metal) — around 2,000 ILS per ton
- Tarpaulins — about 30 sheets at 170 ILS each (about 5,000 ILS)
- 3 toilet units (Western-style, heavy-duty plastic) — 700 ILS each (2,100 ILS)
These are estimated costs provided by the families on the ground; together they come to roughly $7,000.
Why it cannot wait
Every week of delay is another week children spend in the cold and rain. Building these shelters now, before winter fully sets in, protects four families through the hardest months of the year.
